Hi! Very interesting blog post and comments section. I was given Isagenix by my sister and am currently on Day 4 of a 2 week “cleanse”. Prior to her giving it to me, I told her that I was wary of the product because I could not find any research supporting Isagenix that was not influenced or purchased by the company itself. That’s odd, especially for such a large company with so many supporters and testimonies. Despite my hesitation, I agreed to try it. I am obese and have been having trouble with sleep apnea, shortness of breath, and heart palpitations. My typical weekly diet included regular doses of fast food, pizza and at least 2 liters of fit soda per day. Frankly, I believe that Isagenix DOES contain things that are unhealthy. However, it is likely that they are less unhealthy than the disgusting things I was already consuming everyday. My plan is not to use Isagenix for life. I can see why people do, though. It’s a matter of convenience (and for some, a matter of pride). I am using this period to move from being completely unhealthy to embracing real foods again. There’s something about two shakes a day and a 48 hour no-solid-food period that just makes you appreciate something simple and natural like a sweet potato. (Please please please don’t tell me sweet potatoes are bad for me. I just fell in love with them.) I fully intend to return to a life of real food, which I believe does have everything we need to be healthy and thrive. I just needed a way to “reset”, to start the change I know my life needs.

You may be asking yourself, “will I be hungry during a cleanse?” Luckily, the answer is no. Kathy states that the Nutritional Cleansing program feeds the body hundreds of nutrients, organic minerals, and several other ingredients that nourish the body while cleansing it so that hunger urges are avoided during the process. Kathy also says that the hardest challenge during a cleanse for product-users is being surrounded by food. As a helpful tip, she recommends that you conduct a Nutritional Cleanse on a day that you won’t be grocery shopping or cooking a dinner for your family so that you can effectively avoid unnecessary food cravings.

I believe everything you have said. I too fell for the lose the weight feel great marketing pitch. After I bought the product I realized that I had made a big mistake and promptly returned it. I am still on thier fb page for support. They need all the support they can get cause they are starving to death!!! One girl was having Niacin flush which is what I was experiencing and other people were encouraging to keep at it, one supporter told her that Niacin flushes were good for you, well I mentioned that this sort of thing leads to liver failure and they all pounced on me but telling a factual truth. It almost resemblies cult like behaviour. Scary. Well the truth will prevail in the end.
I was in poor health and using the Isagenix products helped me lose weight, begin exercising, and make healthier food choices. I continue to use Isagenix products as part of a healthy lifestyle. Unlike Dr. Hall, I am not an MD, but with that being said, many of her criticisms of the Isagenix products are not really accessible to the average person. So, Dr. Hall, I guess since you are writing so much about Isagenix, maybe refer us readers to other health professionals, perhaps in the field of nutrition that can speak with more credibility, to what you are saying.
It started with a bite-sized cookie. A sip of beer. A handful of chips. You promised yourself today would be different. And you were doing so well! But that was days ago. And now it’s days later and you’re in the same sorry state: groggy, bloated and (at least) 5 pounds heavier than you were before you caved to that first cookie. Now what? Before you launch into a new regime, kickstart your weight loss with the easiest 24-hour cleanse of your life. These simple, by-the-hour Eat This, Not That! detox tips will help you beat the bloat, boost your metabolism and exceed your weight loss goals without having to do a full-blown juice cleanse. And melt fat in just seven days on The 7-Day Flat-Belly Tea Cleanse! Test panelists lost up to 10 pounds in one week!
A few commenters expressed concerns about the product. The Isagenix rep couldn’t answer questions about origin of ingredients and quality control. There have been no controlled studies. Where is the evidence? How do we know it is safe? Long-term results remain to be seen. How many can maintain this restrictive lifestyle for years? Why isn’t it being regulated by the FDA?
I have physically seen positive results from using Isagenix and as a result I’m going to commence a “cleanse” program and whilst I agree with the benefits of “natural” options I also need to approach this with a degree of practicality. My lifestyle choices determine my longevity, (genetics aside), and the Isagenix option seems to provide me the ease at accomplishing my goal.
The SHRED Power Cleanse If you have two weeks to commit, this program by Dr. Ian a great one to consider. Why? Because it's filled with whole, nutritious, fiber-rich foods, a common sense approach to eating and an exercise program that is based on smart science. It is not designed to be a weight loss program, but you're likely to lose weight while you're on it. And during the program, you learn healthy lifestyle habits (like planning ahead and journaling) that you can use for long-term weight loss and weight maintenance.
