Thanks for the honest review. Before for this I was on a website that was knocking Isagenix only to discover that the closing paragraph was a plug for a competitor, Leptigen with a link to their products (the “review” was written by a Leptigen strategist). Either way I wasn’t interested in either product at that point. It seems hard to argue with the logic that you should simply just eat real, unprocessed foods, but all the comments say otherwise.

Thanks for reaching out. There are different stages of the Cellular Healing Diet; the advanced stage is basically the ketogenic diet, wherein may lie the confusion. The basic CHD may include small amounts of sprouted ancient grains, whereas the advanced CHD (the keto diet) includes no grains, but much more good fat and moderate protein. See here for Dr. Pompa’s article on ketosis: Ketosis 1: https://drpompa.com/additional-resources/health-tips/ketogenic-diet
However, according to Barclay this has more to do with weight loss than anything unique to Isagenix. "People often feel euphoric when they consume low-kilojoule meal replacements, due to the rapid weight loss. Losing weight can provide you with the sensation of having more energy – because you have less weight to carry around. It's very subjective though."

The UIC study evaluated body weight, body composition, cardiovascular risk factors, and oxidative stress biomarkers in 40 women. The subjects in the Isagenix group had superior results across all parameters. They lost weight more predictably week to week and 56 percent more weight and 47 percent more body fat overall. Notably, the subjects also lost twice as much visceral fat, which led to a greater reduction in oxidative stress and cardiovascular risk markers.
I tried Isagenix and it literally put me in the hospital with low blood sugar and fainting spells. Granted, I am a decent sized guy (5’10 200 lbs) but these shakes messed with my system so badly that I would never recommend anyone doing it. I know plenty of these Isa-people who incessantly post on Facebook, and they have the audacity to claim their products are not “processed” and are “all natural.” Isagenix is space food for astronauts. Not real human food.
Dave in reply to your comment “those that Fail aren’t doing the programme properly” let me assure you I am INDEED doing it correctly! I am nearly at the end of my 30 day cleanse and have only lost 3.5kgs and 15cms I have followed it to a T and all I can say is good for you if you and your wife find this product great. I have also found that those that are “Big” to start with on this programme generally loose a lot quite quickly and it cant be a healthy way to loose. Exercise and wholesome food can generally shift the weight if one sticks to that. I just wanted a helping hand and can say that it wasn’t an enjoyable one! And……Tracy, you are definitely right about the sugar! Do people not know that Sugar is reported as being a Killer? Does not take a rocket scientist to see that!
I read your blog and I agree with you on a lot of what you stated. However, sometimes to prove your point it seems that you leave out info from both sides of the argument. For example, I am allergic to onions, uncooked onions!! Crazy I know but I won’t go around telling people that they should not eat it and that all of it is bad all of the time for everyone. Gluten has been around forever even before the environment became so polluted. If you study history and archaeology research shows that people who were suffering from simple allergies were mistreated or misdiagnosed; which ultimately lead to premature deaths.
My nutritionist is amazing. Thanks to her encouragement, I went from 206LBS to 157LBS. I smoked while losing the weight, but did learn to eat right, thanks to her. My goal weight is 130LBS-135LBS, and I have gained 15 LBS since quitting smoking, but will not lose sight of my goal. A few months ago, a nice lady, a friend of a facebook friend, approached me about buying these Isagenix products, and I put it on hold. After reading up on them, they are probably not bad, but the issue is this: How can one really keep the weight off buy drinking shakes, power bars, and all that other crap. It has to be a lifestyle change. It takes more will power and is less fun to do this Isagenix crap than to cook right. At first, it was an adjustment, buying salmon, vegetables, making salad, cutting out soda and snacks. Eventually; however, it became easier. It is on this path, I will continue, and eventually get to my goal weight. Now that I am no longer smoking, and using that as a crutch, I feel better and know that now I can continue my weight loss journey. Quick fixes are not the solution. We got fat because we love to eat. Now its time to amend one’s eating choices and portion sizes. That is the key, not these silly shakes, power bars, and all that other crap. Finding an amazing nutritionist is the key.
Do you know how many great, healthy meals you could make for the same price people are spending on this crap? Look for products with less than 5 ingredients, all that you can pronounce…It’s not that tough. Blows my mind. Or how about this…invest in a personal trainer and get your butt off the couch? Here’s another thought, higher a nutritionist or dietitian. It’s not that hard. Eat clean, exercise to the best of your ability, and stop looking for the magic pill.
I wish people would open their eyes a bit and spend more time criticizing and ripping apart the REAL scammers in our world, like Big Pharma whose job it is to keep us sicker than ever and not a product or company that promotes and believes in REAL solutions for a healthy body, whatever the company may be. If any of you actually believe that our bodies can naturally defend themselves against all of the toxins and pollution that is bombarded on us WITHOUT our consent, then good luck to you…you will need it. Start fighting against those making you ill….NOT those trying to at least help! And btw…this lady’s job is to pick apart anything she gets her hands on….open your eyes!
Shakes, fads, and quick fixes are temporary fixes to a bigger issue in my opinion. Yeah, I can detox, drink shakes and a few healthy meals a day but am I willing to do that for the rest of my life so I can lose weight? Hell no. I’ll stick to eating 6 times a day, eating my dozen egg whites and veggies, chicken and tilapia. I’d rather invest my money in real food.

With this new-found popularity, the number and type of cleanse diets has soared, from food-based "liver detoxes" to liquid-only fasts for several weeks and everything in between. While the extreme cleanses often get a bad rap—Beyonce confessed that drinking the maple syrup-lemon-cayenne pepper concoction made her "cranky"—many women swear by cleanse diets to lose weight, increase energy, and even help clear up acne.
Why it Works: Studies show apples have an appetite-suppressing effect. The pectin fiber in apples contribute to delayed gastric emptying. Essentially, this prolongs the time the food remains in the stomach, thus maintaining the feeling of being full and satiated. As for cinnamon, we know for a fact the spice is a proven blood-sugar reducer. New studies also show that cinnamaldehyde, a compound in cinnamon, may induce fat-cell autonomous thermogenesis.
“Dr. Paul,” as he prefers to be called, has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and more than 70 published abstracts. He’s had grants from companies and organizations including Abbott Laboratories. In addition, he’s a frequently invited nutrition and exercise expert on television and radio, such as The Today Show and Doctor Radio on SIRIUS XM. The cleansers in my Isagenix Facebook group said it would be easier after day five, and they were right. I got used to drinking a shake for breakfast and a shake for dinner, and looked forward to my low-glycemic lunches like it was Christmas morning. (I was salivating as I put pieces of lettuce into a container at the salad bar.) Though I didn’t lose any more pounds than the previous weigh-in, this didn’t deter my motivation. For the first time in a long time, I’m feeling good—digesting food nicely (in the past, I’d have a bit of a rumble here and there), and oddly, I have more energy than ever before.

My seventh grade debate teacher told me I’d make a good lawyer and I appreciate the compliment coming from you as well! I think it’s incredibly commendable that you stopped using/recommend Isagenix once you found out the truth about it. There are so many people who still recommend and sell it, fully knowing (and having read this review) that it’s not a healthy product. It takes a lot to walk away from something like that, especially when you’re making money from it.

Dairy cows on New Zealand farms are free to feed on spacious pasture in a temperate climate and the pristine environment that the country naturally provides. Research has shown that when cows are fed their natural diet of grasses in this way, it also keeps them healthier in comparison to grain-fed cows on feedlots. The farmers’ milking process is also more humane and natural where the cows are milked only according to season (rather than being artificially impregnated constantly to maximize profits).

Tracy, why aren’t you calling out the real scams like vaccines, GMOS, chemo, etc that the rest of the world isn’t buying into? If science is so great why is autism, chronic disease, cancer on the rise? Oh that’s right… How would you get paid? You really think you are fooling anyone? You are just a shill, in your terms, for the real scams… The difference with Isagenix is if I don’t like it I can stop, I don’t have a choice to eliminate the attack on me when my water is fluoridated, or there is GMO’s in that supposed organic food or there are pesticides engineered into the food that doesn’t wash off… Your lack of common sense is stunning… It is next to impossible to eat healthy in America even if you wash your produce you moron!
If you're thinking about starting your weight loss with a juice cleanse, think again. While juicing may be the most popular way to jump-start weight loss, it's not the best way; especially when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off. What you don't know about juicing could STOP you from losing weight and may actually be harmful to your health.
